Southern
Indiana Rehab Hospital Receives
National Brain Injury Certification
New Albany, IN . . .Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital (SIRH)
recently received a national certification as a Level I (one) Brain
Injury Specialist from the American Academy for the Certification
for Brain Injury Specialist (AACBIS) on May 19, 2005. Currently 90%
of the Brain Injury team holds this specialty certification.
The National Brain Injury Association established AACBIS in 1996
due to the need for specialty-trained individuals. These
certifications ensure that the health care provider is meeting
established competency standards in the treatment and care of those
patients who have sustained a brain injury.
Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital has the largest group of
individuals with specialty certification of treatment of brain
injuries. We are proud of our dedicated staff in achieving this
specialty certification. People with brain injury may have a wide
variety of difficulties that hinder their progression of recovery.
Our staff now has a stronger foundation in the best practices of
brain injury recovery, reports Linda Moore, Brain Injury Program
Director.
For more information regarding brain
injury recovery or treatment, contact Linda Moore, SIRH Brain Injury
Program Director at (812) 941-6142.
