Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital Achieves Three-Year CARF Accreditation
New Albany, IN. . . Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital (SIRH) has received accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient, Brain Injury, Medical Rehabilitation and Case Management programs for three years.
This accreditation outcome, which represents the highest level, is awarded to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable. Further, an organization accredited for three years indicates that present conditions represent an established pattern of total operations that is likely to be maintained or improved in the foreseeable future.
The latest action marks the third consecutive Three-Year Accreditation awarded to SIRH by CARF, an international accrediting body. SIRH is only the third facility in the United States to receive CARF accreditation for its Case Management program.
SIRH is a non-profit organization, jointly owned by Frazier Rehab Institute, Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, and Clark Memorial Hospital. Since 1994, SIRH has provided the southern Indiana community with inpatient and outpatient rehab, as well as other specialty programs in Brain Injury, Strokes, Burns, Orthopedics, Chronic Wounds, Neurology, Spinal Cord Injuries, Amputations, Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab, Arthritis, Spasticity, Lymphedema, Aquatic Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, and Asthma.
CARF is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body promotion quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Since 1966, CARF has established consumer-focused standards to help organization measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
