Required Documents
To comply with SIRH's Educational Department's policy, prior to their
arrival, each student is required to send:

Directions / Parking
Parking: Parking is free. Students are asked to park in the outside
row of parking spaces.
Map and Driving Directions
Orientation
Each student is required to attend General Hospital Orientation within
the first two weeks of the internship. It generally occurs the first
or second Monday of each rotation. The hours are 8:50-4:30. In
addition, discipline specific (OT, PT, SLP, TR) orientation will take place during
the first week.
Meals
Meals at SIRH cafeteria are available at a 35% discount with display
of hospital / University nametag. Students may bring a lunch if desired
and store in a refrigerator designated for staff. Microwaves are
available.
Dress Code
Students are expected to wear a nametag at all times at collarbone
level. SIRH will provide one during the hospital orientation class
(please wear University / College nametag until one is provided). White
Lab coats are optional. Dress is casual, yet professional. Usual dress
consists of loose-fitting khaki-type pants and collared or nice
crew-neck shirts. Clean, comfortable shoes such as athletic or comfort
dress shoes are appropriate. For pants, please do not wear denim /
jeans, patch / pocket-style pants, cargo/carpenter pants,
tight-fitting pants, leggings, pants > 1" above ankles, sweat
pants, pants gathered at the ankles, capri pants, bib overalls,
leather, translucent pants. Skirts must be no >2" above the
knee when standing. For shirts, do not wear crop tops, sleeveless
tops, denim, leather, sweat shirts, T-shirts, cap sleeve tops, or
shirts with logos. For jewelry, do not wear piercings in any visible
place except small earrings / studs. No > 3 earrings / studs per ear.
Tattoos should be covered at all times.
Housing Opportunities
Housing options are available upon request by the student. Generally,
students are provided with a list of optional housing opportunities
including rooms within homes of staff members at a reasonable fee.
